Celebrate the Holidays in Monaco!

The Principality Glows with outdoor celebrations

Ring in the holidays and enjoy Monégasque traditions. Whether it's  the Christmas Village, a special performance or gala dinner, Monaco will put everyone in the holiday spirit.

The magic of Christmas arrives every year, the first week of December, at Monaco’s Christmas Village on the Port Hercule. Young and old alike can experience the thrill of ice-skating during the day and ice karting in the evening. Chalet shops offer special hand-crafted wares, family-friendly creative workshops and animations, and regional culinary specialties. Visitors can taste traditional “barbajuan” - a crisp, baked or fried puff pastry treat filled with Swiss chard, ricotta, leeks, garlic and herbs, "fougasse" - a small, sweet bread flavored with oranges and decorated with nuts, raisins and anise, and "u pan de Natale” (Christmas loaf), which can usually be found in the bakeries.

On December 24, join the local community and enjoy a midnight mass at the magnificent Cathedral of Monaco. On New Year's Eve, raise a toast with revelers who convene in the legendary Casino Square while watching the fireworks.

The Principality of Monaco has also identified 2015 as the "Year of Russia." Through more than 130 events, Monaco will showcase and pay tribute to the shared rich cultural heritage of the two States through culture, performing arts and gastronomy. The Bolshoi Theatre Ballet’s performance of “The Taming Of The Shrew,” choreographed by Jean-Christophe Maillot, Director-Choreographer of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, at the Grimaldi Forum on December 19 will officially kick off the celebration.

Happy Holidays from Monaco!
